Americans in China optimistic over election result

Many Americans in China have expressed optimism over Barack Obama's election as the next president. They are looking forward to the future ties between China and the United States.

US ambassador to China Clark T. Randt Jr.

No matter how far from home, these American citizens have their own ways to support democracy in action.

Randt has been working in Beijing for seven years. He believes the future relationship between the two countries will keep improving.

American businessmen in Beijing also believe the new president will keep improving trade with China.

China is now one of the biggest trade partners to the United States.
