Meeting stresses infrastructure reconstruction in quake zone

Premier Wen Jiabao has presided over a meeting of the national earthquake relief headquarters. The focus was on summarizing relief work and reconstruction for the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12th.

Premier Wen Jiabao has presided over a meeting of the national  earthquake relief headquarters.

The meeting noted the joint efforts by authorities, local people, army soldiers and police officers. It stressed the reconstruction period has begun and the headquarters is urging authorities to restore basic living conditions and economic level in quake zone within three years.

Priority should be given to infrastructure reconstruction, including schools, hospitals, transport and communications.

Quake areas and their support partner areas will be need a tight coordination work system.
