The Ministry of Transport says several major highways and  expressways in Sichuan were closed Monday afternoon.

Li Jiaxiang, the top official from the air administration, is on his way to quake-hit areas in Sichuan to direct disaster relief work. Air China will help transport disaster relief goods. All of the company's employees have been ordered to cancel vacations and remain in their posts.
