Hu Jintao meets leaders ahead of Boao Forum

President Hu Jintao's busy schedule began with a meeting with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf.
Musharraf described the situation in Pakistan, and Hu Jintao said China respects, understands and supports all measures taken by the Pakistani government to maintain domestic peace and stability, and promote economic development.
Musharraf said Pakistan hopes and believes that the Beijing Olympics will be a success. He said his government will take measures to ensure a smooth torch relay in Pakistan. He said Pakistan firmly opposes any actions aiming to make the Beijing Olympics a political issue and to sabotage the Games. Musharraf emphasized that Pakistan acknowledges Tibet as an inalienable part of China.
In the afternoon, Hu Jintao met with Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, whose country will be one of the stops in the global tour of the Beijing Olympic torch. Kikwete said Tanzania will do its best to ensure the success of the torch relay in the country, and will not allow anyone to sabotage the event.
Hu Jintao thanked Tanzania for its support for the Beijing Games, and said China is willing to work with African countries to contribute to peace and development of the continent.
After the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of a series documents on economic and technological cooperation.
During another meeting, Hu Jintao and Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar reviewed the development of bilateral relations and exchanged views on promoting reciprocal cooperation between the two countries.
In his meeting with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasim Bin Jabir Al-thani, Hu Jintao expected both sides to jointly promote peace and stability in the Middle East and Gulf region, and facilitate negotiations on a free trade area.
Hamad said his country firmly supports the Beijing Games. Hu Jintao said China will do its best to fulfill its commitment to people around the world and prepare well to hold a successful Olympics.
During a meeting with Kazakh Prime Minster Karim Masimov, Hu Jintao said China will expand bilateral cooperation in various fields and upgrade their strategic partnership to a higher level.
Masimov said Kazakhstan will endeavor to cooperate with China for the success of the Beijing Games.
Hu Jintao thanked Kazakstan for its work to ensure the smooth tour of the Games torch in Kazakhstan, especially the participation of President Nazarbayev in the relay.
Masimov reiterated that Kazakhstan will adhere to the one-China policy.
