Enrolling his son to primary school is the most important thing for him before he leave home for a job in a coastal city.
Liu Qiuhua said, "At first I thought government only made part of the fee free and it would cost me at least 100 yuan, but now it's completely free."
This year, the procedure is simple. No queues, no money. Children just need to sit tight and wait for teachers to call their names so they can be signed off for their free education.

A pupil said, "Now, we don't need to take money to school when term begins. This also makes us safe on the way to school, too."
The Chinese government decided to provide free education and textbooks for primary and junior middle schools last year. In this school, the new policy can save families more than 300 yuan a year.
The Chinese government also raised accommodation subsides for students that have economic difficulties.
