There are growing worries about the impact of the storms on the supply of goods and prices.

The city government has set up sale stations of cheap vegetables in every market.

The last weekend before Spring Festival, the last-minute shopping for the family reunions.

A typical holiday menu features port, chicken and fish.

Though snow is making it difficult for supplies to reach the city, residents are satisfied with the selection available.

A Guiyang resident said, "I don't worry about the market supply, but the thing is that prices are a little higher. "

Pork prices have risen by over 20 percent.

The seller says it's beyond his control.

A pork seller said, "The weather is so bad, it's difficult for transportation. But I think during the festival, things will get better."

The freezing weather has put a chill on market supply.

Vegetables have frozen, an indication of just how low temperatures are.

But as things begin to warm up, residents may get a break.

A vegetable seller said, "Temperatures are rising and prices have begun to fall. There will be no problem with the market supply."

A Guiyang resident said, "I didn't see a decrease in the kinds of vegetables available. The market is now enough."

The government has also helped control prices, as confirmed by a staff from the market management office.

Market management staff Yu Hai said, "All departments concerned are now jointly supervising market prices, with the aim to prevent any irrational behavior of rising them."

The city government has also set up sale stations of cheap vegetables in every market.

All these efforts are to ensure the people of Guiyang can celebrate the lunar New Year as usual.
