Hu Jintao, Wu Bangguo meet Gordon Brown

Special Report: British PM visits ChinaPresident Hu Jintao and top legislator Wu Bangguo have both met British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Brown is in town for a three-day visit.

President Hu Jintao praised Brown's efforts in promoting cooperation with China. He said Sino-British relations are developing in a comprehensive manner, and the strategic dialogue and foreign diplomat dialogue mechanisms between the two sides are working effectively.
Hu Jintao said China appreciates Britain's adherence to the One-China policy, its support of China's efforts for peaceful reunification, and its opposition to Taiwan's bid for UN membership.

Brown said Britain welcomes Chinese companies to invest there. He said he hopes the two countries will cooperate more closely on international and regional issues to contribute to world peace.
Brown emphasized his country's stance on the One-China policy will not change.
