Nevada, S. Carolina primaries to open

In the US, primaries are set to take place in Nevada and South Carolina on Saturday. The two states are the next battlegrounds in the race to choose candidates for November's presidential elections.

In Nevada, Democrat Hillary Clinton focused on an interest rate freeze.

Hillary Clinton said she would like to freeze interest rates for five years.

Hillary Clinton, democratic presidential candidate, said, "I would like to freeze interest rates for five years. These interest rates have gone up way too fast, they have in many instances, forcing people out of homes who were perfectly capable of paying what they were paying."

Her rival, Barack Obama, emphasized that Washington should shift attention from the wealthiest to the ordinary people.

Barack Obama promised to take those tax breaks away from the wealthiest Americans.

Barack Obama, democratic presidential candidate, said, "And we will take those tax breaks away from the wealthiest Americans, and put them in the pockets of the hard working Americans who deserve them."
