World leaders condemn assassination of Bhutto

George W. Bush, US President, said, "The United States strongly condemns this cowardly act by murderous extremists who are trying to undermine Pakistan's democracy. Those who committed this crime must be brought to justice. We stand with the people of Pakistan in their struggle against the forces of terror and extremism. We urge them to honor Benazir Bhutto's memory by continuing with the democratic process for which she so bravely gave her life."
Shimon Peres, Israeli President, said, "She told me that once she'll become a prime minister, as she hopes to become, she wants to visit the country and establish a relationship with the Israelis, with Israel. So she was a Muslim with a difference, a democrat with a difference, a leader with a contradictory situation and yet she kept her charisma as a woman and her strengths as a leader."

Kevin Rudd, Australian Prime Minister, said, "This is an attack on the democracy of Pakistan, this is an attack on the stability of Pakistan, this is an attack on the forces for moderation in Pakistan. This assassination is an evil act, it's a cowardly act, it is an act which has brought about universal condemnation from around the world and deservedly so."
Gorden Brown, British Prime Minister, said, "Benazir Bhutto may have been killed by terrorists but the terrorists must not be allowed to kill democracy in Pakistan. This atrocity strengthens our resolve that terrorists will not win there, here, or anywhere in the world."
The UN Security Council has voted unanimously to condemn the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. The UN is also urging all nations to help bring the killers to justice.
