A key member of the US delegation says product safety does not only concern China. Rather, it is a much larger issue facing the whole world.

US Secretary of Health and Human Services Mike Levitt is calling for global cooperation in boosting product safety. He says rapid changes in international markets make it difficult for individual governments to stay ahead with regulatory moves. The Chinese government is already doing its part.

On Tuesday, it will sign two new Memorandum of Agreements to raise the safety of food, drugs, and medical devices.
