Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says Mideast conference is an historic chance for regional peace.
Abbas made the remarks in Cairo after a meeting of the Arab League follow-up committee of the Arab Peace Initiative.
Abbas wants Arab countries to take part in the conference to discuss Arab issues, including Lebanese and Syrian, as well as the Palestinian situation.
The conference is expected to launch negotiations on the Palestinian issue on the basis of various international peace initiatives.
