CPC thanks greetings for National Congress

BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China (CPC)on Wednesday expressed its "heartfelt gratitude" toward political parties, governments, civil organizations and their leaders for congratulations and good wishes on the occasion of the CPC National Congress.

At the CPC's 17th National Congress concluded on Oct. 21, Hu was re-elected general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.

"Entrusted by the CPC Central Committee and CPC Central Committee General Secretary Hu Jintao, we express our heartfelt gratitude," the CPC General Office and its International Department said in a joint statement.

The gratitude was also extended to foreign ambassadors to China, individuals, overseas Chinese, as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots who sent congratulatory messages on the occasion.
