Syria and Iran say they're willing to take a hand in finding a political solution to the crisis between Turkey and Iraq over PKK activities. At a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem says PKK activities and the possibility of a Turkish military response threaten the whole region.
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki says the PKK threaten not only Turkey but also Iran and Syria. He says their actions in northern Iraq create a destabilizing effect throughout the region. Mottaki says a diplomatic solution assisted by Tehran and Damascus would help resolve regional issues and restore durable peace to the Middle East.
