Special Report:   Chang'e I -Journey to the Moon

China's lunar probe Chang'e-1 is expected to arrive at its second apogee or highest point from Earth Monday afternoon.

China's moon probe team says the satellite will start its propeller when it begins the transfer, raising its apogee from 70,000 kilometers to 120,000 kilometers.

The Chang'e One's engine is scheduled to work longer than it did in the second transfer. Later, ultraviolet image sensors installed on the satellite will begin working to collect information on the earth and the moon after entering the 48-hour orbit. The images it collects will be transmitted back to earth. Land and sea surveillance posts, as well as astronomical observatories have been monitoring Chang'e One since Saturday.

According to data received so far, all of the systems on the satellite are working normally.
