British private security guards in Iraq fired on a speeding vehicle, wounding as many as four civilians. The team, protecting members of the US Army Corps of Engineers, issued warnings before opening fire.

Iraqi officials say three civilians were wounded. A US military spokesman says there are four victims. But an employee of the security company says only one person was slightly injured.

The latest shooting happened near Kirkuk, north of Baghdad when a vehicle approached their convoy at high speed. Shooting incidents involving private security guards have prompted angry demands for improved oversight of the private security teams.
