Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has discussed his country's nuclear program with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Iran's state news agency, Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran will give serious consideration to the Russian leaders proposals on the nuclear issue.

The agency did not say what those proposals were. Khamenei has the final say on all government matters in Iran. He told Putin that Iran is determined to become self-sufficient in nuclear energy, but it will continue to cooperate with the IAEA.
