The Iranian Foreign Ministry says Tehran sees no obstacle to a visit by the French Foreign Minister, despite his controversial comments about a possible war.
Spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said such visits and diplomatic consultations would help officials of other countries forge a better understanding toward the realities inside Iran and regional issues. Last Sunday, Kouchner warned that the world should brace for a possible war over the Iranian crisis.
Relations between Iran and France have been tense ever since. Kouchner has tried to ease the tension by expressing readiness to visit Iran and hold talks with senior Iranian officials.
