French Prime Minister Francois Fillon has said everything must be done to avoid the war with Iran. His statement comes the day after his foreign minister says Paris should prepare for that possibility.

Francois Fillon said, "Everything must be done to avoid war. The role of France is to work towards a peaceful solution, compared to a situation that would be very dangerous for the rest of the world. A confrontation with Iran is the last outcome any politician can wish for."
