Premier Wen Jiabao says the close friendship between China and Laos is highly valued. He made that pledge to increase cooperation in a meeting with Laotian Prime Minister Bouasone Boup-havanh.
This is Bouasone's first official visit to China since taking office in June 2006. Wen Jiabao says China is willing to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure, mining, and energy resources.
He also says China wants to develop the Greater Mekong Sub-region and crack down on cross-border crime.
Bouasone thanked China for its aid in Laos' economic development and expressed hope that bilateral ties would deepen.
