Thai police and Attorney General are working with their overseas offices to extradite former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his wife.
The Department of Special Litigation Office says Thailand's Supreme Court has already handed Thaksin and his wife arrest warrants and they are now fugitives.
Thaksin and his wife are wanted for alleged corruption involved in purchasing land in Bangkok. Thailand has issued a new order to freeze a further seven million US dollars in assets held by Thaksin's family members.
Almost seven million dollars worth of assets belonging to Thaksin's younger sister and his son have already been frozen.
It's still unclear whether Thaksin and his wife will appear before court on September 25th for their first trial session.
