First batch of Chinese troops starts training for anti-terror drill

Special Report: 80th Anniversary of PLAThe first batch of Chinese troops in Russia has started training for next week's joint anti-terrorism drill of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The Chinese People's Liberation Army says the drill will boost its capabilities in transporting troops, launching precision strikes and working with foreign counterparts.
The Chinese military helicopters for the joint exercise have been deployed as scheduled.
The 16 transportation helicopters and 16 armed helicopters have traveled about 2,700 kilometers to Russia from across the border in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
"Peace Mission 2007", involves 1,600 members of the PLA travelling from Xinjiang to Chelyabinsk in Russia's Ural Mountains.
