FM confirms kidnapped Chinese workers returned home

The Foreign Ministry has confirmed that seven Chinese workers kidnapped in Ethiopia have been released. They were taken hostage during an attack on a Chinese oil field last week.
The plane carrying the released workers has landed at Addis Ababa air force base on Monday. Meanwhile, survivors of the same attack have returned home on a chartered Air China flight, along with the bodies of the nine victims.
Their plane arrived early on Monday morning in Zhengzhou, the capital of central China's Henan province. And the government has offered its gratitude to the Ethiopian government, the International Committee of the Red Cross, among others, for helping to secure the safe release of the kidnapped workers.
Last Tuesday, more than two hundred rebel gunmen attacked a Chinese oil company in Ethiopia.
