China´s diplomats celebrate upcoming Chinese New Year in NY

China's Ambassador to the United Nations, Wang Guangya, said Sino-US relations are some of the most important in the world.
At a reception in New York to celebrate the coming Chinese New Year, he said China and the United States share more common ground than differences.
About one thousand representatives from the local Chinese community attended the annual event. China's UN ambassador, Wang Guangya, and Consul General, Liu Biwei, were both on hand to greet the guests, who represent about a million Chinese in greater New York.
In his speech, Ambassador Wang Guangya said that China continued its independent foreign policy of peace during the past year. He praised the good momentum of Sino-US relations, saying they were characterized by closer economic and trade ties and more frequent high-level exchanges.
He also hailed China's diplomacy over the past year.
