Car bomb near Shiite mosque kills 10 in Baghdad

A car bomb has exploded near a crowded bus stop in eastern Baghdad during morning rush hour, killing 10 civilians. Dozens of others were wounded.

The blast occurred near the Shiite al-Rasoul mosque in the Shiite neighborhood of Kamaliyah. Shops and cars in the vicinity were all damaged. Witnesses said the explosion occurred close to families who were heading to the al-Zahra market. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.

Iraqi and US forces have sealed off the area for further investigations. The area is normally crowded with commuters and day laborers looking for work.
