UN urges return to talks in Somalia

The United Nations' envoy to Somalia, Francois Lonseny Fall, has met with Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed, and Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi. Fall urged the country's government to make amends and commit to peace talks with rival groups that have taken over much of southern Somalia. He expressed the international community's concerns and said his focus was to persuade the government to come together and restart talks with the Union of Islamic Courts.
