Gunmen have opened fire in a bakery in Baghdad killing 8 people and wounding one.

Police said those killed or hurt in the Thursday morning shooting in Baghdad's eastern neighborhood of Zayouna included bakery employees and customers.

Such attacks are usually carried out by Sunni-Arab militants, since most of the bakeries in the city are run by Iraqis from the country's Shi'ite majority. An eyewitness said Sunni-Arab militants stormed into the bakery and killed them while they were baking.

Also on Thursday, three Iraqi civilians died in two separate attacks in Baghdad. Meanwhile, police said a roadside bomb exploded in another part of Zayouna, killing one Iraqi policeman and wounding three others.
