US Defense Secretary Rumsfeld resigns

And just a day after Republican losses in midterm elections, US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has resigned.

US President George W. Bush said that over the past six years, he has relied on Rumsfeld's advice and counsel. He says the embattled Secretary has been dedicated to his mission and devoted to the country's Armed Forces. Rumsfeld says its been an honor to serve in the Department of Defense. The Democrats, applauded the move and called for a "fresh start" on a new policy.
