The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation has climaxed with the Declaration of the Beijing Summit. In that, delegates showed their determination to build a strategic partnership and to expand cooperation.
After the roundtable meeting on the final day of the Forum, Chinese President Hu Jintao, together with Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, announced the Declaration of the Beijing Summit. The document will serve as a guideline for future cooperation between China and Africa.
Hu Jintao, Chinese President said, “Based on the principles of friendship, peace, cooperation and development, we have reviewed the sincere friendship and cooperation between China and Africa in the past half a century, discussed the common goals and developing directions of Sino-Africa cooperation under the new international situation, and determined to further promote the significance of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.”
