The president of the Asian Development Bank. Tadao Chino surveyed the damage in three towns and visited refugee camps in Sri Lanka. There he talked to people who have lost everything, including their loved ones. According to its website, the World Bank is offering up to 675 million US dollars in assistance to tsunami-affected states.(TAKE SOUNDBITE)

President of Asian Development Bank Tadao Chino said, "Now that many people have water, food and temporary shelters, we need to provide them with means to develop their livelihood and the ADB is now ready to support them in every way we can. We also need the ability and construction of necessary infrastructure which will be the basis of their livelihood."
