China Red Cross collects US$18m

Up till now, the Red Cross Society of China has donated 18 million US dollars to tsunami-hit countries.

About one seventh of the money has been handed over to devastated areas, while the rest is earmarked for rebuilding villages, schools and orphanages. Meanwhile, two Red Cross rescue teams have arrived in Indonesia and Sri Lanka. They鈥檒l be followed by a third team, heading to Thailand next week.
