The World Health Organization says so far, there has been no evidence of a major outbreak of epidemic diseases in Aceh, the worst tsunami-hit region in Indonesia's Sumatra Island. But WHO experts told Xinhua News Agency that they noticed an increase of cholera and malaria cases in the region, and they are trying to help local health authorities set up an effective epidemic monitoring and reporting system. They also said with international aid medical and public health facilities in Banda Aceh, the provincial capital, had been largely restored.
