Chinese delegation in Maldives

Maldives' president, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, has met with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei, thanking the country for the help it鈥檚 given in the aftermath of last month's Tsunami. Gayoom said the delegation's visit embodies the true friendship between the two countries. He also promised that Maldives would make good use of China's aid. Wu Dawei expressed his government's sympathy and its continued concern. On Monday, China sent the first batch of 50 tons of aid to Maldives on Monday, the shipment including generators, rice, biscuits and instant food. Another two deliveries will follow.
