Since the December 26th disaster hit the South Asian countries, Hong Kong has donated nearly 700-million Hong Kong dollars for relief operations, on average 100 dollars per resident. It's the biggest-ever collection of donations in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong SAR officials say the distribution of the donations will be announced in detail on Monday. Some money is being given to Hong Kong residents who are affected by the disaster. So far, the SAR government has distributed relief aid including counseling assistance to more than 200 tsunami-affected families. Hong Kong residents from all walks of life are reaching out to show their compassion to everyone affected by the tsunami.
