Iran will reject any European proposal on the nuclear issue, which includes demands to end uranium enrichment. But, officials in Tehran say they're still open for dialogue or even an agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said no details had been received on the proposal. But he stressed that Iran would only accept if in its national interest. He added that any proposal should also recognize Iran's right to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

Earlier, several European countries floated the possibility of a package of economic concessions and technological assistance. Some analysts see this as Iran's final chance to avert a showdown with the UN's nuclear watchdog.
