Russian President Vladimir Putin has concluded his three-day official visit to China. He left Saturday from Xi'an, capital of northwest Shaanxi Province.

While in the country, he signed a Sino-Russian Joint Statement with Chinese President Hu Jintao, and sanctioned an implementation program for the Sino-Russian Good-Neighborly Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

For visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin, his Xi'an stop was the final destination on his tour of China. Putin and Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi presided over a meeting with leaders of five northwest China provinces and autonomous regions. The two sides were aiming to further expand bilateral cooperation.

Wu Yi expressed hope that the two sides could implement the consensus they reached in the meeting. She said any practical implementation could benefit the people of both nations.

Putin said the Russian government is pushing for more cooperation with China at home. And the country is especially interested in collaborating with China's west regions and exploring natural gas and oil fields.

The visiting President called his trip "fruitful". The two countries signed 13 agreements, clearing boundary disputes and strengthening bilateral ties. This is Putin's third visit to China, and the first in his second term as president.
