Franz Beckenbauer has criticised the lack of attacking football and quality on show at the World Cup.
The former Germany captain and coach has been at virtually every game since the tournament began and does not appear to have been impressed with what he has seen.
Beckenbauer, who is president of the World Cup organising committee, is likely to have angered some people with his comments but the 60-year-old says he was hoping for more entertainment at the planet's biggest sporting event.
Speaking to German sports agency SID, Beckenbauer said: "There were not many bad games at the final, but there were no real thrillers.
"If I had my way the teams that play one striker would not be allowed into the tournament."
He added: "I was seriously annoyed by the lack of courage from some teams - how afraid the coaches were.
"There were hardly any shots on goal and that explains the low goal quota."
Der Kaiser also admitted that he had struggled to pick out players for FIFA's squad of the tournament, adding: "I have been on the panel to help pick out the best ten players at the tournament.
"We could have picked a completely different ten. There were no stand-out players."
