　　MUNICH, June 24 (Reuters) - Sweden coach Lars Lagerback suggested Brazilian referee Carlos Simon played an "influential" part in his team's 2-0 defeat in the second round of the World Cup finals on Saturday by rampant Germany.

　　Lagerback, 57, said he was disappointed and "not pleased" at the Brazilian official's decision to send off central defender Teddy Lucic after only 35 minutes.

　　It was incident that left the Swedes with only 10 men against a dominant host nation in front of a partisan crowd on an afternoon of 32 degrees Celsius heat.

　　"I don't like to talk about referees and incidents straight after a game but I must say I'm not very pleased. He had some influence on the game with those decisions," said the normally mild-mannered coach.

　　"I haven't had a chance to see the incidents on a video replay so it is difficult to say much but I was not happy."

　　PHILOSOPHICAL COMMENTS

　　Lagerback congratulated Germany for their victory and a pulsating opening burst of two goals in 12 minutes but his philosophical comments did little to hide his disappointment at the result and the refereeing.

　　It was clear that referee Simon smiled at Lucic as he raised his red card to send him off, an action for which he was patted several times on the back immediately afterwards by Germany's two-goal hero Lukas Podolski.

　　"I don't want to say anything much more about this," said Lagerback.

　　The coach added: "It is bad enough to play Germany in a stadium like this with 11 players but when you only have 10 it is much more difficult. I must say I was not sure about the cards."

　　Lagerback said also that it was very difficult to instruct his players during the game when he wanted to make changes. "It is so difficult to communicate when you have a stadium and a crowd like this," he said.
