　　I'm thrilled about winning this award and I'm overjoyed about qualifying for the next round. We're not just representing Ghana now, we're representing the entire African continent. The USA were very strong, they applied a lot of pressure in the second half. We're looking forward to meeting Brazil. It'll be a very interesting game, but we're not afraid of anyone. This team could go a long way.

　　The win means a lot to us, and to all of Africa. It's the first time anything like this has happened to us. It was a vital victory. I gave it my best shot but the yellow card's taken the gloss off it.

　　Sulley MUNTARI (GHA)

　　We played well. It was our best performance so far and we're all delighted. We'll take each game as it comes now. We could make it to the semis. It's a shame Michael (Essien) won't be playing, we'll miss him.

　　Richard KINGSON (GHA)

　　It's a tremendous feeling. Of course we can beat Brazil, we've come here to win the Cup. We're not scared of that. Everyone back home in Ghana is ecstatic and celebrating. We're representing all of Africa, so everyone should join in the party.

　　Essien is a very special player and a key member of the team. They're out on the streets in Ghana at the moment, and no-one's going to work tomorrow. We'll have to improve against Brazil. We have a chance, provided we play like we did against the Czechs.

　　The spirit of the team was there. We didn't give up but it just didn't come off tonight. We tried everything. For the first game of the tournament (a 3-0 loss to the Czech Republic), we just weren't prepared. The next games were better, but it just wasn't good enough. I really felt for Claudio (Reyna, injured captain). He was really important for the team and we missed him. I feel bad for him, I hope it isn't too serious.

　　I really worked hard to get back into the game. It was a hard game and I'm very disappointed, but losing is part of the game. I was trying to find the game but it wasn't there - I couldn't really get involved. It got better in the last ten minutes but that was too late.

　　Steve CHERUNDOLO (USA)

　　We could have won but we didn't do enough. Italy did their job. It was a difficult group and we got punished. We're just disappointed.

　　Bobby CONVEY (USA)

　　I don't know what else we could have done. We were hard done a couple of times.

　　Carlos BOCANEGRA (USA)

　　It's a bad feeling when you know that you need two more goals. We didn't play to our potential. We could have done better.
