　　GENEVA, June 22 (Reuters) - United Nations chief Kofi Annan missed out on watching his native Ghana as they played a decisive World Cup match against the United States on Thursday.

　　"I think it is going to be a fun game," Annan told a news briefing in Geneva before leaving for New York, where he lives.

　　"Unfortunately, I shall be trapped in a plane as the game goes on and it is really very sad," the U.N. secretary-general said. Ghana need to beat the U.S. to ensure a place in the second round in the match in the German city of Nuremberg.
