　　在加納主帥拉托米爾杜伊科維奇，和捷克隊主教練卡雷爾布呂克納在賽前的發佈會上，捷克主帥稱隊內的射手揚科勒和米蘭巴羅什能否上場還是個未知數。他説：“他們倆的傷情仍然是個秘密，我不會在比賽前透露誰會上場，因為這場比賽將會比第一場比賽更加艱難，加納隊的傳球技術很好，而且，還有三名十分優秀的中場球員。”

　　Ghana plot downfall of injury-hit Czechs

　　They are unlikely to take to the field on Saturday, but Czech strikers Milan Baros and Jan Koller still managed to dominate discussion when coaches Ratomir Dujkovic of Ghana and Karel Bruckner of Czech Republic addressed the press ahead of their second group match.

　　The hamstring injury sustained by Koller at the end of the first half soured slightly a delicious 3-0 win for the Czechs in their opening match against the USA, particularly with Bruckner's other main striker, Milan Baros, also struggling with a foot problem.

　　“The situation with Koller and Baros is private and I will not reveal who will play until just before kick off,” the Czech told reporters on Friday. “This game is even more difficult than the first I’d say because Ghana are good passers and they have three very good midfielders.”

　　Although Bruckner may well opt to replace Koller with another giant striker in Vratislav Lokvenc, as he did against the USA, Dujkovic, who has no injury worries of his own, admitted the absence of both the Czechs' first-choice strikers would probably leave him with new tactics to counter.

　　“They have the advantage because they have three points and we have none. We didn’t score in the first game, but I hope and believe we will score a few against the Czechs.”

　　An African first?

　　If Ghana win tomorrow, it will be Africa’s first victory at Germany 2006.

　　“All the African teams had strong opponents in the first matches and this is why they haven’t won up to now,” said Dujkovic. “In the second matches, I think it will be different. All our players are now playing in Europe, so they know all about tactics and they can adapt to any situation.”

　　Czech goalkeeper Petr Cech, who will come up against Chelsea colleague Michael Essien, said he expected a tough game.

　　“Of course I’m not afraid of playing Essien,” he said. “I have a lot of respect for all their players as they have big personalities. We just have to concentrate on gaining three points.”

　　The 24-year-old, seen by many as the best goalkeeper in the business, believe he is ready for the rigours of the world's premier tournament.

　　“I think I have enough experience to play a World Cup,” he said. “Playing for Chelsea brings a lot of pressure, so it’s a good school. To prosper, you need to have a strong mind as a team and as individuals.”
