　　CAN someone PLEASE have a word with 'Him Upstairs' to make sure that Wayne Rooney gets some action against Trinidad & Tobago.

　　Rooney should be let off the leash against a team which has absolutely no hope of getting anywhere in this competition — so he can put the fear of God up those who will remain.

　　The longer Rooney remains on the sidelines, the more his influence on this World Cup will diminish.

　　He is our talisman, the player who creates a real buzz every time the ball is at his feet — but England are suffering without him.

　　And it’s about time we were all put out of our agony because Rooney does for us what the magical Ronaldinho does for Brazil.

　　I’m damn certain that just seeing him out on the pitch for a couple of minutes if the circumstances are right against T&T will give the squad an explosive boost.
