　　FRANKFURT, June 13 (Reuters) - South Korea coach Dick Advocaat said he was forced to take big risks to secure a 2-1 World Cup win over 10-man Togo on Tuesday.

　　The Dutchman's bold second-half changes paid rich dividends when goals from Lee Chun-soo and substitute Ahn Jung-hwan cancelled out Togo striker Mohamed Kader Coubadja's 31st-minute opener.

　　"I couldn't recognise the team in the first half," Advocaat told reporters.

　　"They were so nervous and we couldn't create any chances. We made it very difficult for ourselves.

　　"It was a big risk to put Ahn on at the start of the second half. We went to 4-2-4 and normally teams kill you when you play like that.

　　"But it was a good move to bring him on. It was clearly a big success and he scored a brilliant goal. It was well deserved."

　　Lee's 54th-minute free kick and a fierce right-foot strike from Ahn in the 72nd gave 2002 World Cup semi-finalists South Korea their first World Cup victory on foreign soil.

　　"We knew we had to pressurise Togo early to make them nervous," said Advocaat. "But with the heat it was difficult.

　　"We took a lot of risks but luckily it turned out a success."

　　Man of the match Ahn, whose golden goal knocked Italy out of the last World Cup, praised Advocaat's reshuffling of his pack in the Group G clash.

　　"The substitutions had a big impact on the game," said the German-based striker. "It's just amazing to be able to help Korea claim their first World Cup win overseas."

　　South Korea take on France on June 18 and Switzerland five days later in their remaining first-round matches.
