　　埃裏克松表示，“最近關於魯尼的討論太多了。我想説到是如果魯尼恢復了他就能夠上場，我們會一天天的來觀察他的恢復情況。但是他在對陣巴拉圭的比賽中不會上場。”

　　WAYNE ROONEY proved he is racing back to fitness with a series of ferocious tackles.

　　The England striker launched himself into no-holds-barred challenges on Theo Walcott and Jermaine Jenas during training in Frankfurt yesterday.

　　And in a further boost to England’s World Cup hopes, Rooney showed his right foot is healing well by playing a full practice match up front alongside Walcott against today’s team to face Paraguay.

　　Rooney, 20, will be on the bench for today’s Group B opener but manager Sven Goran Eriksson has already decreed he will not take any part in the game.

　　But he could be used as a sub as early as next Thursday’s match against Trinidad & Tobago, in spite of Manchester United’s claim that he will not be fit for any of England’s first-round games.

　　Eriksson insisted last night: “There has been a lot of talk about Wayne Rooney lately.

　　“I have said that when we think he’s fit he’ll play. That’s it. We will take it day by day but he will definitely not play against Paraguay.”

　　Steven Gerrard is delighted his mate has made the World Cup.

　　The Liverpool skipper said: “Wayne is really buzzing at getting the all-clear on the scan. So is the rest of the squad.

　　“It’s great news and now we just need to get him match-fit.

　　“We need to be patient with that because you can’t really throw a player into a World Cup game if he’s not match-fit.

　　“But it definitely gives us a massive lift. He’s our key player and definitely helps our chances.”
