　　在世界盃開賽前，奧拉西奧埃利松多接受了世界盃官方網站FIFAworldcup.com的採訪，內容涉及正等待著他的巨大挑戰，他的期望和準備工作以及他最大的願望：執法一場沒有突發事件的比賽.

　　FIFAworldcup.com（以下簡稱F）-埃利松多先生，你是怎麼得知自己將執法揭幕戰的？

　　奧拉西奧埃利松多（以下簡稱奧）-我是在一次會議中得知的。他們把我們召集到一起，向我們宣佈誰會執法前面的16場比賽，我的名字是和另外兩個助理裁判一塊被提到的，我們臉上的表情足以説明一切，那是巨大的驚喜，接著每個人開始鼓掌並向我們表示祝賀.

　　F-從那時起，你接受了許多采訪，你被問的最多的是哪個問題？

　　奧-被選中執法揭幕戰，你的感受是什麼。

　　F-那麼你的感受是什麼呢？

　　奧-（笑）感覺棒極了！雖然現在已沒有當時那麼激動，但是我非常的高興。且説是我又回到了地面吧。作為一名裁判，必須為自己找一個開心的媒介，但是你必須保證自己要能保持平靜。

　　F-在這種大賽前，球員們同常夢想能夠進球或是撲出點球，那麼作為一個裁判，你的夢想是什麼呢？

　　奧-裁判也會受到那些想法的影響。你試圖在頭腦中正視比賽中可能出現的各種的情況：它也許是場很精彩而簡單的比賽，也許是火藥味十足，而一般的裁判要讓比賽看起來沒有任何問題。你需要集中精力，保持情形的頭腦，相信自己的能力。

　　F-你學過德語嗎？

　　奧-沒有，我只會説Guten Morgen（你好），因為每天早晨我都會説（笑）。不，嚴肅説來，我不覺得有什麼問題，我想大多數的德國球員講英語。

　　F-説到語言，本屆世界盃要求裁判必須具備一定的英語能力，你認為測試過程如何？它對你和同事的關係有什麼影響？

　　奧-我幾年前就知道將要引進這個測試，但是他們最終在2005年決定下來。我們要進行口語測試，然後是一個筆試，這兩個測試都和足球有關。這是要求你能夠用英語來解釋場上情況或是寫出一份報告，不得有錯誤。

　　F-這一定有助於你們裁判之間的相處與交流。

　　奧- 當然，之前，你不會講英語，在整個比賽期間，你都閉著嘴。而現在，你可以于別人互動交流，與其他國家的裁判們坐下來聊聊天。那就是説，他們需要對我很有耐心，並且讓事情簡單。

　　F-回到慕尼黑的比賽吧，你打算留下什麼紀念品嗎？

　　奧-我還沒有想過，看看會發生什麼再説吧。或許會留下個球隊名單或是之類的東西。

　　F-如果阿根廷表現的好，那麼你在本屆杯賽之後的比賽中執法的機會就會減少。你擔心這個嗎？

　　奧-一點也不。我和同事們説不管是吹哪一場比賽，我們都會把它當成最重要的比賽。最主要的是當我們回家時我們知道自己已經盡了自己最大的努力。

　　F-在接受了這麼多采訪之後，有沒有什麼問題是沒有被問到但是你很願意去回答的？

　　奧-（停頓）我想有人問我“你想要感謝誰？”

　　F-那麼你想要感謝誰呢？

　　奧-我想要感謝Claudio Busca，他已經去世了。他是一個裁判，同時也是我的副校長，他教會了我一切.然後是Angel Coerezza，他幫助了我的成長，還要感謝Juan Carlos Lousteau，他教會了我裁判的技能同時他也是裁判協會的領導。最重要的是我還要感謝我的家庭，我的妻子。在我需要她的時候，她總能夠出現在我的身邊。

　　Come 6pm on 9 June the eyes of the world will be fixed on one person. The man in question, Argentina's Horacio Elizondo, will take a deep breath and cast a glance at his assistants before embarking on one of the biggest challenges in his illustrious career: officiating the Opening Game of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany?.

　　On the eve of the game in Munich, FIFAworldcup.com spoke to Elizondo about the exciting challenge awaiting him, his expectations, preparations and his biggest wish of all: to referee an incident-free game.

　　FIFAworldcup.com: Mr Elizondo, how did you find out you were refereeing the opening game?

　　Horacio Elizondo: It was at a meeting. They had brought us all together to announce who’d be taking charge of the first 16 games, and my name was mentioned along with that of (assistant referees) Dario (Garcia) and Rodolfo (Otero). The look on our faces said it all. It was a huge surprise. Then everyone started applauding and congratulating us.

　　You have done several interviews since then. Which question have you been asked the most?

　　How I felt about being selected.

　　So how does it feel?

　　(Laughs) Brilliant! I’m absolutely delighted, although the initial euphoria has died down a little now. Let’s just say I’ve got my feet on the ground. A referee can’t afford to get carried away. You have to find a happy medium and make sure you’re calm when you walk out onto the pitch.

　　Before such a big game players usually dream of scoring a goal or saving a penalty. What kind of things do referees dream about?

　　Referees aren’t immune to those kind of thoughts. You try and envisage the game in your head, the different situations that might come up: a nice, easy game or a hot-tempered one, a penalty or a card or two. Players hope that things happen in a game, whereas your average referees tries to visualise a game without problems. You need to be focused, have no pre-conceived ideas, keep a clear head and believe in your own abilities.

　　Have you learnt any German?

　　No. The only thing I know is Guten Morgen because we say it every morning (laughs). No, seriously, I don’t envisage there being any problems. I imagine most of the German players speak English.

　　Talking of languages, this is the first FIFA World Cup where referees must have a level of competence in English. How did you find the testing process, and what impact does it have on relations with your colleagues?

　　We knew they were going to bring this in years ago, but they finally decided on it in 2005. We had an oral exam and then a written test, both of them football-related. The idea is to be able to explain situations in English, or to work on a report without making mistakes.

　　It must also help the referees to get along with each other.

　　Of course. It’s a great idea in that respect as well. Before, if you didn’t speak English, you spent the whole tournament with your mouth closed. Now you can interact, and sit down and have a chat with fellow referees from other countries. That said, they need to be pretty patient with me and keep things fairly simple.

　　The curtain is ready to rise

　　Turning back to the Munich game, are you planning to keep a souvenir?

　　I haven’t thought about that yet. Let’s see what happens. Maybe a teamsheet or something like that.

　　Your chances of taking part in the latter stages of the tournament will diminish if Argentina do well. Is that something that plays on your mind?

　　Not at all. If it did, I’d be going out there thinking about things I shouldn’t. Before we flew over, my colleagues and I said that no matter what game we were in charge of, we’d try and referee it as if it were the most important match of all. The main thing is to return home knowing we did our very best.

　　After so many interviews this week is there a question you have not been asked that you would have liked to answer?

　　(Pauses) I would have liked for somebody to ask me who I would like to thank.

　　So who would you like to thank?

　　Claudio Busca, who is sadly no longer with us. He was a referee and the deputy headmaster at my school. He taught me everything I know. Then there’s Angel Coerezza, who helped me develop as a person, Juan Carlos Lousteau, who worked on my technical skills, and the heads at the referees’ association. Above all, though, I’d like to mention my family and my wife. She’s always been there for me when I needed her.
