　　SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON has told England fans to “have faith” in Wayne Rooney playing at the World Cup.

　　Rooney will return to Manchester on Wednesday for a scan on his foot and Sven believes he will be back in Germany that night.

　　He said: “You talk about ‘if he doesn’t come back’. Don’t talk about ‘if’, talk about ‘faith’. He will come back from Manchester.

　　“Obviously everybody thinks he will come back from Manchester on Wednesday night. That’s what I think — I have no doubts about it.”

　　But Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe will still travel with the squad today as a potential replacement if Rooney is KO’d.

　　Eriksson added: “Now it’s on with the Armani suit and off we go. The World Cup starts when we get on the plane.”

　　John Terry, Ashley Cole and Gary Neville are all expected to shake off minor injuries before Saturday’s clash with Paraguay.
