World-Kehl takes over from Frings for Germany
DORTMUND, July 4 (Reuters) - Germany midfielder Sebastian Kehl will replace suspended Torsten Frings as one of two changes for the hosts' World Cup semi-final against Italy on Tuesday, the German football federation said.
Frings was banned by FIFA after Italian television executives said they had evidence the midfielder had thrown a punch at Argentina forward Julio Ricardo Cruz in a fracas at the end of Friday's quarter-final.
Kehl, a defensive midfielder is a straight swap for Frings, while Germany's other change was to replace Bastian Schweinsteiger with Tim Borowski on the left of midfield.
