日本足協主席川淵三郎２４日對外界表示，現執教于日本千葉隊的波斯尼亞籍主教練奧西姆有望在世界盃結束之後執掌日本隊教鞭。

　　當天從德國返回日本的川淵三郎説，日本足協只同奧西姆一人進行了會談，“我想他一定會同足協簽下合約”。

　　在日本足協心中，奧西姆一直是接替日本隊現任主教練濟科的第一人選。德國世界盃賽開幕前，日本足協技術官員田島幸三已經向奧西姆提出執教日本隊的建議。目前，奧西姆正在奧地利的家中休假，田島幸三將於下周初赴歐洲同其就具體條件進行磋商。

　　川淵三郎評價奧西姆時説：“正是他將實力不濟的千葉隊打造成一支富有魅力的球隊，他已經表現出與其他教練不同的執教風格。”

　　奧西姆出生於波斯尼亞，１９９０年世界盃上曾帶領前南斯拉伕隊闖進８強。此後，奧西姆在澳大利亞的俱樂部度過一段時間，２００３年開始執教千葉隊。

　　TOKYO, June 24 (Reuters) - The Japan Football Association is in talks with former Yugoslavia coach Ivica Osim over taking charge of the national side after Brazilian Zico stepped down, media reports said on Saturday.

　　President Saburo Kawabuchi said the JFA had been talking to the 65-year-old Osim, currently coaching Japan side JEF United Chiba, since before the World Cup, the reports said.

　　Osim led Yugoslavia to the quarter-finals of the 1990 World Cup in Italy. He became JEF manager in 2003 and helped the J-League first division side lift the Japanese League Cup last year for their first ever title.

　　"We want to sign a formal contract as soon as he accepts our offer," Kyodo news quoted Kawabuchi as telling a news conference following the Japan team's early return home from the World Cup.

　　"We don't know yet whether we can sign him. I'm talking about what we feel is going in our favour, 70 or 80 on a scale of 100."

　　Kawabuchi said the deadline for the talks will probably be shortly after the July 9 final.

　　Brazilian Zico's four years as Japan coach ended in an early exit from the World Cup as Japan succumbed to Australia and Brazil and could only manage a scoreless draw with Croatia, leaving them bottom of their group. (Reporting by Jonathan Standing)
