　　French players wrong to snub fans: Domenech

　　HAMLIN (AFP) - The French team were wrong to walk off the pitch after Sunday's game against South Korea without acknowledging the support of their fans, coach Raymond Domenech has admitted.

　　France were frustrated at being held to a 1-1 draw by the Koreans in their second Group G fixture in Leipzig, leaving them a tense last match against Togo on Friday where they've got to win by two goals to qualify for the last 16.

　　But Domenech said: "At the end, the players should have gone over to them because we have to give something to the supporters. In this case I plead guilty, the team pleads guilty.

　　"We will try to ensure this doesn't happen again. If we made one mistake in this match it was really that," added Domenech.

　　"I'm sorry for it but at the same time I can understand the players' disappointment.

　　"But there are no excuses. For me it's not normal, there are people who have travelled miles to get there. There were a lot of them, they were noisy and made a contribution."

　　Domenech dismissed a suggestion that the team may have still been feeling the effects of the whistling they were subjected to from the crowd at the Stade de France in a warm-up against Mexico last month.

　　"We're not at the Stade de France, we're at the World Cup. The fans that are here are supporters of the French team and we owe them something."
