Togo coach Otto Pfister has insisted that his team should have been awarded a first-half penalty after seeing The Sparrow Hawks go down 2-0 to Switzerland and out of the World Cup.
Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor was brought down by a clumsy challenge by Patrick Muller after 35 minutes but referee Carlos Amarilla ignored the strong claims by the Togolese.
The German coach claimed afterwards that the spot-kick should have been given and added that the Africans were not helped by the officials.
"I don't like to criticise referees - there is a rule book and it must be respected. That's all I can say," explained Pfister.
"Anyone who sees the replay will come to the right conclusion and I think we were unlucky with the refereeing."
Pfister, though, was not too unhappy with his players' efforts and had no complaints at the final result.
"We can't be happy, but the team is here to learn and I think they put on a good show," he said. "I think the players gave 100 percent effort but with the problems we've had, we couldn't play any better.
"We can only congratulate the Swiss team because they won deservedly
