　　KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany (AFP) - Italy's Gianluca Zambrotta and Gennaro Gattuso are both available for Saturday's World Cup Group E match here against the United States.

　　Versatile defender Zambrotta and tough-tackling midfielder Gattuso missed Monday's 2-0 victory over Ghana, but Azzurri coach Marcello Lippi said the recovered pair were ready to face the Americans.

　　"Everybody's available," Lippi said after the squad's training session at the Fritz-Walter stadium here on Friday.

　　However Lippi refused to say whether he would change the team that started the opening match against the Ghanaians.

　　"Don't expect me to announce my side the day before the match," he said. "I've never done that as a coach and I'm not going to start now."

　　The Americans were trounced 3-0 by the Czech Republic in their first match and are now in danger of an early exit, while victory for the Italians should be enough to earn them a last 16 place.

　　Despite their contrasting fortunes in their opening games, Lippi said the USA, for whom Claudio Reyna hit the post when the Czechs were leading 1-0, were not to be underestimated.

　　"It would be very foolish to think that we are in for an easy game just because the Czechs beat them 3-0," said the 58-year-old former Juventus coach.

　　"Don't forget they hit the post at 1-0, and if that chance had gone in it could have turned out differently."

　　The USA are expected to make changes, but midfielders Landon Donovan and DaMarcus Beasley are likely to retain their places despite being publicly criticised by coach Bruce Arena after the Czech defeat.

　　Italy, who won the World Cup in 1934, 1938 and 1982, have played the United States eight times, winning six and drawing two.

　　The teams met in the first round of the 1990 World Cup, with tournament hosts Italy winning 1-0 in Rome.
